Description:
In this 50 hour mat teacher training program you’ll learn the classical method up to an intermediate level. The training includes teaching techniques, basic anatomy, advancements, modifications and fundamentals geared toward teaching groups. Please note, the mat training is the first step toward completion of the Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program.

You will learn:
1.  The classical order, repetitions, breathing, fundamentals and modifications of each beginner and intermediate mat exercise
2.  How to design a Pilates mat class
3.  Basic anatomy necessary to teaching Pilates mat classes
4.  Teaching techniques and skills to enhance your teaching abilities

Prerequisites
10 Hours: Pilates experience
Students can count any classes or private Pilates sessions they have already taken. Online class resources such as CarriePagesPilates.com or Pilates Anytime are also acceptable.

Weekend Seminars
20 Hours:  Course Contact Hours
Students must be present for 100% of the weekend seminar. No refunds (partial or full) will be made if the student misses any of the weekend seminars. See enrollment agreement for more details on our refund policy.

Personal Practice  
15 hours:  Self Directed Personal Practice (submitted after the training weekend)
Personal practice means practicing the exercises on your own without outside instruction or along with videos.  This helps the student get Pilates in their body by having to focus on the details of the exercises.

Practice Teaching
15 Hours:  Teaching Hours (submitted after the training weekend)
The practice teaching hours can be fulfilled by teaching a friend, a small group in your home or a scheduled class at a studio or gym.*  All 15 hours must be completed to receive your certificate.

Required Text:
Return To Life Through Contrology by Joseph Pilates (can be purchased on Amazon.com)

To receive your certificate you must complete, document, and submit all required hours and email a video of yourself teaching a 20 minute classical Pilates mat class.

 

Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training

Pre-Cert: February 9:  9am-5pm

Weekend I: March 9-10:  Saturday 9-6, Sunday 8-2

Weekend II: April 13-14:  Saturday 9-6, Sunday 8-2

Weekend III: May 10-11:  Friday 1-7, Saturday 9-6

Written Test: Up to student to schedule between May 12 and June 8

Practical Test: June 8:  Sun. 9-6

Description:
This 450 hour program prepares you to teach the traditional Pilates method utilizing the Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs, and Barrels through the intermediate level work.  Upon completion of the program you will be prepared to teach private sessions and group classes. The program encompasses teaching techniques, functional anatomy, transitions, modifications and contraindications.

Important:
Note the Advanced Level Weekend is scheduled for September 14-15 and is required to complete all hours and sit for the PMA certification exam.  There is an additional charge for this weekend.

Total Cost: $3800 due February 9

Payment Plan: 4 Payments of $975 due:  Feb. 9, March 9, April 13 & May 10
